Ghana Delegation Head To Doncaster As State Of The Art Security Training Center Launches |
| Posted by Francis Ackah (francisa) on 27 Oct 2009 |
Caroline Flint, MP, will officially open the centre, based at Robin Hood Airport. The training centre will provide the United Kingdom with a National centre of excellence for the provision of high quality aviation security training.
Redline Aviation Security, founders of the NSTC, have invited key figures from Ghana to the opening of their state of the art facility, which is the only one of its kind in Europe.
All training and support services will be regulated and directed by the Department for Transport and under the auspices of the UK National Association of Security Professionals.
Paul Mason, Managing Director of the NSTC comments: “We are delighted that such an iconic facility has been built. Its location and quality make it a perfect venue for this world class training centre.
“It is our belief that the aviation security industry needs both the facilities and the training equipment that allow for robust, reliable and repeatable training in scenario-led situations to prepare them adequately.
“The size and capacity of the NSTC caters for such training where real x-ray and Walk Through Metal Detectors (WTMD) are utilised for practical exercises and role-play. This aspect of the training is where the fundamental difference in end-state competence occurs.
“The ability to actually experience a situation and allow it to develop, safely, to a conclusion that assesses the trainee’s ability to recognise, act and contain a threat situation is fundamental”.
“We are also especially proud to welcome the delegates from Ghana to Doncaster and hope that their visit will assist the Ghanaians in their desire to become the leading hub for aviation in Sub-Saharan Africa.”
Redline Aviation Security founders of the NSTC intend to broaden their field into the areas of rail and sea travel with a view to supporting the security aspirations of the 2012 London Olympics.
Redline founders of the NSTC are expanding their industry leading style of innovative aviation security training into Africa. Following extensive preparation and in partnership with Yahuda Security Services, Redline have opened a regional office in Ghana, West Africa, in preparation for the launch of a National Aviation Security Program in Accra. Ghana is seen as the ideal start point for this project as it is globally recognised for its’ stable and forward thinking government.
Ghana’s national watchdog, the Ghanaian Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is modelled closely on the UK’s own CAA and Department for Transport (DfT) and therefore it is envisaged that an integrated security training programme will work well in the region.
The first courses are planned to commence in late 2009. Redline and Yahuda will run an Aviation Security Managers’ course in Accra that is based on the UK DfT mandated syllabus, but tailored specifically to the region and continent. Other courses that will be delivered this year will include the Threat Assessors’ course
